SPRILA Grant: Everything You Need to Know About the New Grant for Charging Stations and Stationary Batteries
Charging infrastructure plays a crucial role in the transition to sustainable mobility. For companies looking to invest in electric vehicles and the necessary charging infrastructure, the SPRILA grant offers a solution. At Boltainer, we’re here to help you understand everything about this new program and how you can take advantage of it for your business.
What is the SPRILA grant?
The Subsidy Scheme for Private Charging Infrastructure (SPRILA) was developed specifically for businesses with a location in the Netherlands and public transportation concessionaires. The goal is to encourage the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles on company-owned or leased property. Important to know: charging infrastructure operators are only eligible for the subsidy if it concerns their own vehicles or those of their employees. The subsidy can be applied for from September 24, 2024, through December 31, 2025.
What can a grant be requested for?
The SPRILA grant can be used for both consulting services and investments in charging infrastructure and a stationary battery. These are the main areas for which you can apply for a grant:
- Advice on installing charging infrastructure on your own or leased property.
- Investment in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles on company-owned or leased property. The charging infrastructure consists of:
- the basic charging infrastructure, including the main connection and cabling.
- one or more DC charging stations with a capacity of at least 20 kW and at least one charging point.
- and/or one or more AC charging stations with a minimum capacity of 11 kW, providing a total of at least 4 charging points.
- and/or one or more AC charging stations with a capacity of 43 kW or more.
- Optional: a stationary battery. This applies only if the subsidy for charging infrastructure is at least €25,000.
Who is eligible for the SPRILA grant?
The program is available to companies with a physical location in the Netherlands and public transportation concessionaires. This makes the subsidy attractive to companies that are electrifying their own fleets or wish to support their employees in making the switch to electric vehicles.
