A 2 MWh battery isn’t a standard off-the-shelf product. The right configuration depends on your consumption profile, your on-site generation, and the capacity available at your grid connection. A manufacturing facility with heavy morning peaks requires a different solution than a solar farm with excess power around noon, or a charging station where multiple fast chargers draw power simultaneously.
That’s why every project starts with the question of what problem the battery is meant to solve. Does it need to smooth out peaks so you stay within your contracted capacity? Does it need to store your own generated power until it’s needed? Or does it need to provide additional power at a location where the grid operator has no more capacity available?
The answer determines how much storage capacity and power you need, and whether a single container will suffice. The BOLT-20 provides up to 2,250 kWh and 1,000 kW in a single 20-foot container, including inverters. If your demand grows, you can expand by adding additional containers without replacing the existing system.
In the simulation report, we run through your situation based on your own consumption data. This way, you’ll know in advance which system is right for your location before you make an investment decision.
